Message from 2011 - 2012 PTA President:
Hello parents, members, volunteers, and teachers! As my term as MVMS PTA president draws to an end I would like to reflect on the many events, projects, and fundraisers completed this year. We have had a very successful year thanks to our members that gave up their time to support our events. I appreciated every minute, every dish, and every donations you provided this school years. It aided in our success and thus making the kids happy. I hope you will continue to help the incoming board next year.
To my executive board and committee leaders thank you for being open to my ideas, demands, and expectations. I could not have done this without you! You went above and beyond for me and the students from hanging Rachel's ring to planning the Monster Mash. Our team work enabled PTA to give back for the first time by giving teachers grants. None of this would have been possible without you and your hard work behind the scene!
Thank you for allowing me to be your president this year. I have truly enjoyed every minute of making our kids, teachers, and staff happy. I will miss everyone of you as I move back East this summer. For those who have not volunteered this year please try to help your incoming board next year as it is VERY REWARDING! Many MVMS volunteers will be moving on next year thus your help is needed to keep the Monster Mash, Mc Takeover, and Talent Show going (events our kids look forward to each year). Without you MVMS PTA events will not exist. Give the PTA a try by helping us put a smile on your child's face. Your incoming board has many years for PTA under their belt and will welcome the help!
Thank you again for all your participation and energy this year. Wishing you a successful 2012-2013.

We will have a WATCH D.O.G.S. dinner on October 19th prior to the next PTA meeting (not mandatory) ,where you will be given the opportunity to sign up for the dates that work with your schedule and learn more about this exciting, wonderful program.

Can you donate a day?
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with kids, play at recess, eat lunch with their child, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, mentor students, and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their child(ren), but other students as well. Their mere presence offers additional security at the school during the day! On the day of their participation, the participants are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S. Across America® t-shirt or vest identifying them as Watch D.O.G.S.

Please donate Box Tops!
Our goal is $700 this year.
2010 - 2011 school year we received $104 in donated box tops!!
This is a wonderful program that donated over $300 million dollars to schools since 1996. This is one way we can all contribute to MVMS.
Please Click Here to visit the Box Tops for Education website and sign up and choose Mountain View Middle school as your school and keep track of how we are doing.
Send them with your student to school and they can place
them in the boxes at the offices, or bring to our next PTA meeting. |
